Star Deals Aces Its 7th Straight Loss

It took an overtime for the Hotshots to complete a come-from-behind win against the skidding Alaska Aces, 102 – 98 to close out its elimination run at 9 wins and 2 losses.

The Aces has led by as much as 21 points in the 3rd quarter only to see a complete meltdown come 4th quarter as the hotshots was waxing hot from both ends of the floor; an exact opposite of their first three-quarter performance.

The rally of the Hotshots started when the Aces import Corey Jefferson committed a deliberate foul and Coach Alex Compton of the Alaska Aces felt the need to sit him up for a few minutes. That’s the only opportunity the Star has been waiting for to start their campaign which proved to be a costly error in judgment on the part of the Aces.

The regulation ended at 89-all off a missed 3-point shot by Jefferson.

With the win, the Star is temporarily at the top spot of the standings and hoping that at least anyone of their sister teams Ginebra and San Miguel would lose on their last assignment to barge into the top 2 spot for the twice to beat advantage.

Ricardo Ratliffe won the Best Player of the Game with 35 points, 28 rebounds and 5 blocks to win all three BPG honors in as many games since he came to replace Tony Mitchell.
